ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ THE IN CROWD]
PROGRAM: [Across Lite]
PROGRAM: [Java]
PRINTOUT PUZZLE: [ THE IN CROWD]
PROGRAM: [Adobe Acrobat]
Easy puzzle, and yes, it’s really, really easy. So for those who want to go Downs only, be my guest. One test solver summed it up best: “It’ll be just a speed test, if you want it this easy.” Yes, yes I do.
Thanks to all who were able to give during last month’s mini-drive. A big round of applause to yourselves for that. And let’s have another round of applause for Jenni Levy of Allentown, Pennsylvania. She wins a gift subscription to Peter Gordon’s Fireball Crosswords. Even if you couldn’t give this drive, you can always help me out greatly by spreading the word.
Share the puzzle. New one on Friday.
10:00 A.M. UPDATE: The puzzle has been changed now. Please look at the updated files before letting me have it in the comments section.
Damn, those jackasses even spell their names jackassedly.
Thanks for the timely puzzle.

Clue for 65-Across should read: “‘Season of Glass’ singer”, not “seasons”.
And what’s with OK’ED, KOS and IM OKAY being in the same grid? Huh?
Both corrected, now.
Great, clever theme. I love the timeliness — that’s one of the coolest things about this blog. Bravo!
The news cycle can run, but it can’t hide. Fast response time! Wish I could say it was that easy for me (is “cruciverbally challenged” covered by the ADA?), but it was fun. Had to laugh after way too many seconds ticked away and I saw MAHI MAHI–brain was doing wordplay about “double porpoise” clues. And 29D “Third base” was a nice touch. Would have been good, evil fun were it embedded in Rex Parker’s baseball-themed puzzle I did on his blog yesterday.
Please tell me you are working on this puzzle:

Crap, that link is busted. Aargh.

Easy for BEQ.com, sure, but not that easy! Even if I’d remembered on the first try how to spell MICHAEALEAE, it would still have been a Wed/Thu NYT time. Didn’t see the hidden SALAHIs at all.
I was ref’ing “Aces”, which you mentioned in a p.s. to yesterday’s post. The link you posted below does get me to a working site, but couldn’t find anything like an xword.
DOH! I went back to your blog and see in today’s right sidebar that it was Michael Sharp’s puzz. Overread your Tuesday p.s., sorry.
OMG this is SO embarrassing!! Please pretend I did NOT make the above gaff re Rex Parker vs. Michael Sharp…
Mahi-mahi is a fish, not a dolphin, and it’s a bit east-coast of you to call Omaha a “town.”
