TAKING THE FIFTH: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
For the (counts on hand, double checks his math) four or five you who enjoy doing cryptics, do not miss this stunner from Fraser Simpson. This thing is a masterclass on accessible cryptic clue writing. There is not one unnecessary word. And the surface readings are almost all perfect. A joy to solve, and since it’s hella big (24×24!), you’ll be doing it for some time. Recommended.
Also recommended, is Petite Pangram Puzzles. Editor extraordinaire Peter Gordon and Crossword Jesus Frank Longo are making daily 9×11 easy puzzles that will have every letter in the grid. Get ready for some Scrabblefucking! Anyway, I know those guys, they’re okay. Get ’em over the finish line, will ya? These are going to be good.
Lastly The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year six have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.

Not knowing 2D didn’t help me with 20A on first pass. The “usual” word doesn’t work here.
Still fun!
Thanks for the pointer to the fabulous cryptic. If anyone can explain 23 across, Iβd appreciate it! I have the answer but donβt know why. Thanks.
Bend leaves in tree (6)
I didn’t get it when I solved it either, but took another look…
