THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
What’s this? This Saturday is the next edition of Lollapuzzoola! Huzzah. Get psyched. Anyway, it’s time for puzzle aficionados to converge onto NYC for, what else, crosswords, partying and bullshit. Your mileage may vary on the partying and bullshit. But sign me up for all three. Now, unlike the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament where I help out as a judge (and occasionally write a puzzle for it), or Boswords where I’ve got more than a few hats on, Lolla is a time for me to see how I’d do at speed solving. Here’s the facts: I am not going to do very well. Yes, I came in second in the local (read: lesser) division back in 2012. But all that means is that I’m stuck in the big kids division, and well, lets just say I’m going to solve some puzzles. There are just too many great competitors in there that, well, it would require something truly epic to happen to all of them for me to jump to the top. Any way, maybe I’ll see you there? Good lineup of puzzlemakers this year (click the above link). And if you can’t make it, sign up for the at-home division, will ya? Okay then.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
For this BEQ production, i decide to not go electronic but “dravv up the grid vvith the ansvvers” on a page from the phone book. i Grab a page, rip it out, and proceed to DUTGAVVTA. Turned out pretty vvell for this. And oh yes i intend to do this vvith a replica of Leonardo’s MONA LISA and a ROADMAP of NORFOLK (or HAMPTON ROADS, VA). Consider yourself vvarned.
hi Brendan – thanks for the Minnesota shoutout (54 down)- Andrew Ries’s hometown before moving to Oregon. I am told you will be attending our local crossword meeting next week with Zhouqin – look forward to seeing you.
