THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
The old stand by: two 12s and a 15 across the middle with a 9 holding it all in place. I managed to pull 39-Across just from playing hangman with the locked-in letters of the answers at 4-, 20-, and 41-Across. Basically, I surprise even myself. Good times. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.
Late follow up to a number of you who had a problem downloading last Thursday’s puzzle on some (not all) iOS devices. Eventually, a solution was found, thanks to a couple tech-savvy fans of the site (big shout to Andrew Arensburger). Hopefully this never happens again, and 1,001 apologies, again, if you were affected. Carry on.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Good Times but not Bad Times vvith the crossvvords. Had some slight trouble vvith the eighth and ninth enneants of the grid but it turned out all right. Heard some Funker Vogt, Covenant, Ninja Sex Party (covering “Subdivisions” by Rush), and some covers of The Crossvvord Puzzle Song. Any other vvay vvould be cause for damnation.
I’m surprised that you didn’t clue 55A as either the 2005 Rolling Stones song or the 1984 Bananarama song. Too little known?
Found the clue for 37D a little confusing. In my mind, CGS is the SI predecessor, and 37D is merely a unit therein.
I think that BEQ just glanced at the first sentence in the Wikipedia entry:
“The dyne (symbol dyn, from the Greek dynamis, meaning power, force) is a derived unit of force specified in the centimetre–gram–second (CGS) system of units, a predecessor of the modern SI.”

The vagina is the internal muscular channel leading to the cervix; O’Keeffe’s paintings resemble the external genitalia (the vulva).
