THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Marathon Monday today means a couple things. One, an excuse to carbo load on pasta the Sunday before (I think I ate my weight in linguine). Two, my taxes are due. Good times all around. Regardless, the route passes one block from chateau de BEQ, so me and the Tab will be cheering them on. If any of you are running, look for us around the 23rd mile. More or less where that establishment is in the above picture.
Only it’s a burrito place now, not a curry house.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Hard getting in, very easy, puzzling enuf, getting thru this. No hard spots, BION. 1D: thinking of a certain movie that wouldn’t apply here. That would be the Eddie Murphy prison movie. 46D: ran this thru my head several times, and couldn’t place it til i got 3 letters in. &&&& i needed to put my solving successs rate into PERSPECTIVE. i recalled reading a short story about a young vain man who took pride in his ZIPPO LIGHTER. This millionaire approached him with a challenge: If he can flick it without fail ten times in a row, he gets a car. If one flick fails to flame, he loses a finger. i Recalled this story having an Alfred Hitchcock connection. So i Bing some terms and it comes out Man From the South by ROALD DAHL. Now i feel like i have some direction.
A lot of nice cluing in this one.
Anyone else get 25D without any crosses? Obviously liked 37A too.
Only got 25D because the wife is a hard core tennis fan. Good puzzle.
Liked this one. Pleasantly hard for me. Only comment: Paul was not an apostle.
