PIXAR REMAKES: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
If you’ve not had your fill of movie-themed puzzles after this one, why not try my man Erik Agard’s inspired puzzle on his site. Pretty great stuff, and that fill, forget it. I gotta ramp up my A game after that en fuego grid. Speaking of Agard, and top flight stuff, his latest book “Food For Thought Crosswords” is another joy to solve. It’s got all the Agard hallmarks: wished I’d thought of that theme, wished I’d used that fill, even some metas in the back if you’re into that sorta thing. So, um, yeah. Give my man Erik some love, will ya? Okay.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Kind of a “meh” response. Never seen a Pixar film. Fair to assume the theme answers turns of phrases are based on Pixar film titles?
Fine fun fare.
Could not understand the gimmick to this puzzle even as i solve the total thing. Anyway, now the Washington Post crossword site is using the LA Times puzzle. Any one know the story behind that?
I had no understanding whatsoever any of the themed answers. This was actually pretty cool, as it was like having an additional themeless puzzle this week.
Whoops! Missing “of” after “whatsoever” above. My mistake.
Spoiler: anagrams of titles into interesting phrases.
Just anagrams of Pixar titles into something clueable. WaPo used a syndication that I guess stopped writing new crosswords just recently.
22A gave me the theme, which made solving the remaining themes a bit easier. Fun puzzle. And I agree that Agard’s latest was genius, and his book is super fun and clever.
Thank you! I did not know what I had.
“Drive” band is CARS (3/5/17)
Nice and beautiful
