THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]

Who had a crossword beer summit last Friday? That’s right this guy, and Messrs. Byron Walden and Joon Pahk. Good times. Byron was in town for some math related thing, the Putnam. And as much as I enjoy reading non-fiction books about math-related subjects (no, not a joke), I admit I had no idea what he was talking about most of the time. But that’s fine, we were there to talk puzzles. What does one talk about at crossword beer summits? Let me tell you. Fretting over the inability to do a Donald Trump theme (especially when I’d already done one), personal achievements in puzzling, grids that got away, philisophical debates as to where to put marquee answers in themelesses, computer programming’s role in construction, waxing philiosophical over other minds in the business, our kids, local beers, why one cannot find any parking in Allston on a Friday, and the NBA playoffs. If I left off a crucial piece, well, maybe Joon or Byron can remind me in the comments section.
If you aren’t already a subscriber to Joon’s variety puzzles, or the AV Club (which Byron is a member of), get on it. While you’re signing up, consider signing up for my Marching Bands as well.
Inspiration for today’s puzzle came from the conversation last Friday night. I tried to really embed today’s marquee answer in a super-wide open corner. Enjoy.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
