WITH A TWIST: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]

When it’s bedtime, there’s one particular person (read: me) that can barely keep his eyelids open. Chalk it up under “getting his ass kicked by one precious little toddler.” Heck, Liz is pretty beat too, but she’s also determined not to fall asleep in the 8:00 hour. So while she winds down with some reading, she usually forces me to solve a puzzle. And yes, sometimes I even finish one. But most of the time, I just drift off.
I share this vignette of marital life because our latest BEQ.com Fan(s) du Jour, Sarah Boddy and her husband Bill, also wind down with puzzles just before bed. Specifically, yours truly’s crosswords. Sarah writes:
“We live in rural Georgia (but met in NYC). We discovered you when The Times started charging home delivery subscribers for puzzles, and everyone freaked out, and Rex Parker pointed people to you and Matt Gaffney. By the time I went to my first ACPT (this year!), you were my favorite constructor hands-down. My Bill began to wonder about you when I started saying “BEQqqq!” out loud in tones ranging from appreciative indignation to joyful bemusement while doing the Monday puzzles. I bought him your Yankee puzzle book…you were our first ever cryptic last month…and in the last two weeks, Sex Drugs & Rock n Roll has been on both the left and right nightstands.
Thanks for the kind words, Sarah. You’re making me blush. And to all the other BEQ.com fans out there, feel free to send in your pics.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
