A quick double check of the calendar confirms that today’s the last day of the Joon June drive at BEQ.com. First off, hugs to everybody who were able to chip in this time around. The outpouring of support means a lot. For those who haven’t given, this is it: the electrifying conclusion to the drive is now. A donation of $10 (or more) will give you the satisfaction of supporting your favorite Independent puzzlemaker whose last name is not Gaffney, Payne, Berry, Blindauer, or Tausig. (Wow, that sounds like a lawfirm full of ambulance chasers I wouldn’t want to mess with. But I digress.)
As a thank you, I’ll be sending you a never-before-published bonus themeless 21x (behold the blank grid). To reiterate, this the Last Day to get it. The files are getting destroyed last-scene-of-“Stand By Me”-style tomorrow, so, don’t say you haven’t been warned. As an additional thank you, I’ll enter your name into a drawing to receive a copy of my latest book, “Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll Crosswords.” (Winner announced on Thursday.)
This one’s a no-brainer. Give til you can’t give no more.
In other news, the latest Visual Thesaurus contest puzzle is up. Get thee to it.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Jean/Jedi naticked me at the J. Had my finger poised over the “D” key in anticipation of DERECHO.
you couldn’t find a prettier face for the front page of your pledge drive?
You messed (Messi’d?) me up something fierce on this one. I think I had about 17 or 18 places where I guessed wrong, stumbled, tried again, and then got it right.
Nicely played.
A toughie, but I slogged through. Nice grid, BTW.
