THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
PROGRAM: [Java]
Ah June. What a great time. Graduation is on for some of you. Father’s Day is on for another batch. We’ve got the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup. Barbecue season has begun, unless you happen to live in the south and are barbecuing all the time. And if that’s the case then I’m jealous of you. Or perhaps you lived through the winter (like me) and didn’t allow a little of the white stuff to interfere with your barbecuing (unlike me). And if that’s the case, I applaud you.
June is also a time where I make a heartfelt appeal for the faithful to keep BEQ.com running smooth and to give what you can during this summer drive.
Regulars know the drill, anyone who can give at least $10 between now and July 7th will receive a chunky (let me capitalize that) CHUNKY (much better) bonus puzzle as a thank you. As usual, it’s a thick and juicy Sunday-sized themeless puzzle. One of my testers, you might have heard of him, some guy named Tyler Hinman, he’s only a speed solving legend, anyway, Tyler’s notes included: “Tough one! Good meaty challenge for your benefactors.” So there, if it’s good enough for Tyler, it’s good enough for you I mean, look at this baby. Doesn’t that make you salivate? So tip away! I’ll send it to you immediately after I read the notification (the process isn’t automated, but most of you will get it posthaste).
I’ll also pick one random donor out of a hat and they’ll receive (1) either one of my puzzle books or some random piece of shit I don’t want in my house any more and (2) a year’s subscription to the AVCX puzzle. Thanks to all who can give.
This isn’t a Kickstarter thing. Remember, this site was launched way before Kickstarter was around. The puzzles are getting published no matter what. If I can paraphrase Nas, I’d be doing this even without a contract. Also, this site remains free. Let me capitalize that and spell it out for you: F-R-E-E. FREE. No paywall. No nothing. Free dollars and zero cents. Forever. If you never want to pay for BEQ puzzles and still do them, then you’ve discovered Nirvana.
And, to be sure, I hear your argument. “I wanted free puzzles, and that’s what you’re giving me. What part of ‘free’ don’tcha understand? Why should I give?” Oh, I do understand completely. I’m just trying to appeal to those who have appreciated such crowd pleasing puzzles such as these I’ve linked to here. And those were just from the last five months. Wait until you see what the rest of the year has in store.
Share the puzzle. Give if you can. New one on Thursday.
