THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Holiday season already? Seems baffling, but here we are. I feel like I say that every Cyber Monday, and maybe saying that is just as much of a tradition as anything else this time of year.
Speaking of holiday traditions, it’s that time of the year again when I ask for a modest donation if you’ve been enjoying the puzzles the back half of this year. This site is free, and always will be. There are no paid subscriptions, so stop asking me or pretending you paid for one. Free means just that. Free. But who doesn’t like tips? Bartenders and waitresses like ’em. So do crossword puzzle constructors. And so, like we always do about this time, if you can scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.
For just a non-market-adjusted tip of $10, you can sleep well knowing that BEQ is happy. And a happy BEQ makes good puzzles. I’ll hit you back with two Sunday puzzles, one themeless, the other themed. A Supersized week of BEQ puzzles. Huzzah. Anyway, PayPal or Venmo (@TheBEQ) preferred, but I do take checks (email me).
And hey! If you’ve been on the fence, and want to join in the already going-on Marching Bands and/or diagramless puzzles (current year 2017-18), throw in an additional $10 for each title and I’ll send you the catch up puzzles as well. And lastly, if you were still thinking about giving that puzzle loving friend a custom puzzle made by me, email me today! We still have time, but time’s running out!
Again, this site is free, and you can totally ignore this appeal. The Internet is for free stuff, I get it. Just tip if you can. Thanks for all the love and the support.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
I guess I recognize 68A after looking up their work, but given how unappealing it is, I can see why their name went straight into the oubliette.
60D, 63D, and 64D were difficult crosses with 68A. 64D/5D, I just usually forget all the letters. 63D is hard to imagine, but I guess à chacun son goût. And 60D, hmm, one of Jeff Bridges’ three lowest rated films on Rotten Tomatoes – yeah, that’s memorable.
Uh. Sipon = nurse, e.g.??
If you nurse a drink, you sip on it.
Sure wasn’t convinced RIPD was a movie. Don’t think I’ll be watching it.
Thanks for a year’s worth of great puzzles Brendan. I just kicked in to your tip jar.
Doh!
Apparently the movie is “R.I.P.D” which made me think it stood for “Rhode Island Police Department” Hah!
I got the answer to 12D but have no idea what the clue means.
Don’t feel bad. I once had to explain to one of the top 100 crossword puzzle solvers in the country who didn’t understand the answer “sook” that the answer really was “so ok”. I forget what the clue was but it was pretty lame.
I don’t get 12D either. [True -lue] ???
Here’s hoping that someone who sees this can shed the needed light.
Brendan has now replaced his 12D clue.
12d. ethical means on the level, honest, fair, moral.
